International Silk Road Organisation was Officially Launched for Industrialisation Cooperation

Updated: Mar 22

On 12 February, the International Silk Road Organisation (ISRO), held its official launch in London. The organisation is dedicated to making industrialisation benefit everyone.

The ISRO was upgraded and reorganised from the former UK Silk Road Business Association. Its mission is "Open industrialisation for the benefit of all. " The ISRO aims to coordinate global industrialisation rule systems based on the ISRO agreements, help countries and organisations enhance their industrialisation capabilities, and provide an international platform for industrialisation cooperation negotiations and problem-solving for its members.

Congratulatory letters were received from chambers of commerce in Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Spain, Germany; overseas Chinese affairs or foreign affairs departments from Gansu Province, Shanxi Province, and Qingyang City; business associations from Macau, Greater Bay Area, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Fujian, Shanxi provinces and many cities in China. The letters widely acknowledged that, against the backdrop of profound adjustments in the global economic landscape, the establishment of the International Silk Road Organisation holds significant practical importance and will provide a new crucial platform for promoting the construction of a global industrialisation cooperation order and facilitating civilisational exchange and mutual learning.

According to sources, ISRO has innovatively proposed a "six-in-one" industrialisation ecosystem development model, organically integrating six major elements—member countries, cities, industrial parks, companies, universities and research institutions, and social organisations—into six special committees. This model has been practically validated in regions including China, helping numerous small and medium-sized enterprises achieve scaled development and global deployment. ISRO founder Tingrui Zhang is currently conducting industrialisation ecosystem research at the University of Cambridge, focusing on scale-up and global integration. In his latest conference paper, "Shifting Industrialisation Research Focus from Start-up to Scale-up," he proposed an industrialisation theoretical model based on the above "six-in-one."

Notably, ISRO's signature characteristic is reflected in its "seven-petal flower" organisational structure, comprising the ISRO itself and six special committees. Like its logo, this structure also symbolises the cohesion of seven continents and the seven basic scales that form a wonderful music, highlighting the organisation's pursuit of global synchronisation and harmony.

"ISRO is extensively recruiting executive chairmen and member institutions for ISRO Council Board and the six special committees. We look forward to more like-minded partners joining ISRO, forming ISRO, and becoming ISRO, benefiting the Silk Road and promoting global prosperity through industrialisation cooperation," Zhang stated in his speech.
